Hi readers! This week, we are two stars of the group tech-ers and we are going to show you our work.

First of all, we have to talk about how the task has been completed.

This task was about exploring tasks with digital approaches created to work with children of Primary School. We have explored some of them included in a European Project called TACCLE 2.

After that, we have chosen one of the activities that we like the most according to the title that uses one technology that we hadn’t used before. So, we chose "Ready, steady, cook!".

After selecting the topic, we have answered the different questions. Those are:

  • What subject is this task about? English.

  • What level would be appropriate for this? The first grade of primary education.

  • What is(are) the objective(s) of this task following the Bloom Taxonomy?

Regarding the bloom taxonomy this task follows these objectives:

- Remember: The kids have to recognize and find local dishes and gather information about them.

- Understand: The kids have to understand the recipes and learn how to follow them.

- Apply: The kids have to apply the information they have learnt to be able to cook the dishes.

- Analyze: The kids have to analyze each step of the recipes deeply.

- Evaluate: The kids will have to evaluate the local dishes they find when they decide which one to make.

- Create: The kids will have to create a new dish combining different ingredients.

  • What is the technology used on this task, and what is the technique/format this technology is focused on? (storytelling, robotics, images, diagraming, conceptual mapping… etc.) In this task, we will use a format: Blogging and images.

  • What is the added value of using digital tools in this case?

They will increase their knowledge about their local gastronomy, as well as, using technology to look for information about their surroundings, and besides, they will learn how technology is one of the best ways to share information with other people.

  • What ethical problems could you (or your students or the parents) find doing this activity in the classroom?

In this task, some of the ethical problems we can find in the classroom can be students cannot eat some kind of food.

  • What changes do you need to make to allow your students to do it from home?

Make them do the dish and film a video of them doing it with their family and bring them to school so everyone can taste the different dishes they’ve prepared.

Then, we have taken photos and recorded videos doing the task.

So, with pictures of our experience doing the tasks and the answers to the questions, we have prepared a Pecha Kucha presentation (20 slides, 20 seconds each, that pass automatically).

We have presented it at the online session of Tuesday. We have also brought to the class a recommendation to read/watch to learn, as a teacher, about the format we have used on the task.

We hope that you enjoy our work!
