TASK 1- Analyst

This week was the first time we started working on the subject, and we have learned a lot. There have been both good and bad moments. In the first place, the best moment of the activity was when we saw our Instagram account with the photos and reflections about education, learning and teaching. Seeing the final result of something we have created with effort during this week has been very rewarding. On the other hand, the worst moment was at the beginning of the week, when we were not very sure about what we had to do. It was a moment of overwhelm, since in the first class we could not complete everything we had to do. However, we managed to catch up and right after the online class, we did a group call to continue working.

We had a lot of fun creating the pictures for each slogan and commenting on the pictures of our classmates. We consider ourselves creative and love to do activities that give us some freedom to create and to reflect, it was the best part of the activity. On the contrary, the worst part has been the organization part. At first, we did not organize ourselves well at all, and this was reflected in our work.

Thanks to this task, we have learned to reflect an inspirational slogan in a picture, to do a blog, to use padlet and other technological tools such as “canva”, which we have used to do the pictures. But without a doubt, the greatest learning that we take from this week is teamwork, cooperation and solidarity. We have all learned to work together and to help each other in the different tasks, since everything was new for us and we have managed to organize ourselves well to carry it out. Values ​​such as teamwork and cooperation have been key in this task.

All the content that we have worked on is totally linked to other content of the degree. For example, last semester we worked all the planning and organization part when carrying out any task, since when we are teachers, this will be a crucial part. In addition, we studied that teaching does not consist just on the transmission of contents, but on the transmission of values, something in which we have been fighting for a long time with the creation of the new school, where creativity and different forms of teaching took place. As we saw in class, learning processes change over time, adapting to the different needs of society and using the tools that emerge in new times, such as the internet and new technologies, that we will use as future teachers.

Finally, we would like to mention a recent news item that is connected with the content we have been working on, specifically, with creativity. This news called: “Four strategies to bring out the creative side of education” talks about how creativity is currently one of the most demanded skills in the labor market and the need to develop it within current educational models. Arturo Juárez reveals some strategies to bring out the most creative side of students on the occasion of International Education Day. Some of them are: not setting strict rules, promoting multiple reasoning, promoting different types of reasoning, etc.

As a conclusion, we all think that it has been a chaotic start but we managed to get it. We are proud of our work and we have learnt a lot during this activity, but we know we are going to improve and learn a lot more. As a group, we need to conserve our teamwork and cooperation and we need to improve the organization for the next few weeks. We have learnt that everything we work is related with the current society, and we should base our teaching methods and strategies not only on the transmission of the curriculum content, but also on the social situation and the transmission of values ​​that are necessary in the present days.
